Does insurance cover a doula?

In OR we have universal doula care--except for a few specialty insurances. We can help you check your plan.

Does OHP / Medicaid cover doula services?

Yes--all medicaid is mandatory to cover doula care

How much does a doula cost with insurance?

No out of pocket cost for medicaid clients, private insurance will depend on your plan and copay.  Some of our doulas (student doulas or team based models) do not require an out of pocket cost.

Can I choose my own doula?

Yes can choose a personal doula, doula duo or team-based doula care, or culturally or linguistically specific doula care ---see our directory.

Do I need a referral?

Most plans do NOT require a referral for doula care

What happens if my insurance doesn't cover a doula? 

We ensure all famileis have access to a doula--you can ask us about student doulas who offer probo bono services in exchange for their practicum experience at no cost to you.

Do you have doulas that speak other languages (Ex spanish, russian) or Culturally specific care
